Soul Enchant Changes:
When enchanting a soul item with Soul Enchantment Scrolls when failing the sxp taken from failing has changed as well as the possibility of further penalties happening has been added. Before this update when enchantments failed, you would lose 150K sxp.
The new details are as follows:
+0 through +9 : -100K sxp
+10 through +14: -150K sxp and 5% chance of losing 1 enchant
+15 through +19: -150K sxp and 10% chance of losing 1 enchant
+20 through +29: -200K sxp and 20% chance of losing 1 enchant
+30 through +39: -300K sxp and 30% chance of losing 1 enchant
+40 through +59: -400K sxp and 60% chance of losing 1 enchant
+60 through +74: -500K sxp and 75% chance of losing 1 enchant
+75 through +99: -600K sxp and 90% chance of losing 1 enchant
+100 and above: -900K sxp and 100% chance of losing 1 enchant

I agree that the chance of losing a + should be removed (or at least reconsidered). The loss of SXP which increases as your weapon gets higher in + is deterrent enough without that added risk of losing a + to your weapon. (Make the loss a little higher to offset the removal of the chance of losing 1 enchant)

Especially now that there are X weapons in the game.

For the record I use a X weapon, but it would still be nice to + up my S80 for normal hunting (X shots still too exp to hunt with on a normal basis)

Any chance on this getting reconsidered regarding the loss of enchants when scroll fails. I’ve asked on global and no many people even enchant their weapons anymore. I’d consider enchanting and I know others would too if that -enchant level was removed.

Maybe the 2 scrolls that did nothing also took away 150k sxp, Then your total lost sxp would be 1.35m.

And yeah, the current enchanting system for weapons is depressing and discouraging. Math says that under the current system, with the chance of going +0 removed, you’re not going to be able to make a weapon go over +40(If you’d like the math, let me know). But the current system has that chance for +0, which just makes it even more brutal. Depending on how the rate is for getting +0, it could even bring the ceiling for how you can get your weapon down to around +30.

EDIT: my last enchanting attempt was with 5 mia’s, love buff, luck pot, and a power lich, luck rings, ~141 cha, and 2 out of 5 succeeded. I haven’t done better than that in the past either, trying to get my pearl bow up on the way to +13.
